The aim of the module is to introduce the learner to steel lintel production, lintel testing, protection methods and the relevant standards and accreditations.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

• appreciate the history of lintels;
• understand how steel lintels can be used;
• identify the manufacturing processes and their standards;
• understand the available accreditations for steel lintels, and
• have an overview of lintel testing and protection methods.
